Peace After War is an embodied meditation on resilience, transformation and rebirth. Through the imprint of her own body in deep crimson pigment, Ruby merges flesh, memory and emotion into visceral landscape shaped by survival.
At the center of the work, a dove emerges from the body itself, the reproductive and maternal organ, creating a symbol of peace born through vulnerability rather than innocence. Beneath it, ashes dissolve into wings, suggesting liberation rising from trauma. The painting carries traces of movement, physical presence and surrender, reflecting Vartan's performative approach to painting in which the body becomes both witness and material.
Balancing tension and healing, Peace After War speaks to the human capacity to transform pain into renewal.
